I've always been something of a wanderer, having moved on a regular basis as a young child. I was lucky to have many national parks as my backyard, giving me opportunities to explore: Zion National Park, Everglades National Park, Shenandoah Nation...

Costa Rica is one of my favorite places in Central America/Caribbean. The fact that over a million visitors travel to Costa Rica each year does not happen by chance. Costa Rica is a rugged, rain-forested Central American country with coastlines on the Caribbean and Pacific. Though its capital, San Jose, is home to cultural institutions like the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, Costa Rica is known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity. Roughly a quarter of its area is made up of protected jungle, teeming with wildlife including spider monkeys and quetzal birds. I absolutely fell in love with all the different animals, birds, and butterflies there!

We flew into San Jose, where we stayed at the Marriott there overnight.  The next day, we made our way to the Arenal volcano area.  On our way, we stopped at the Peace Lodge to take a look at that small resort.  I loved it, even though it mostly rained on us while we were there.  It has a neat area with butterflies and animals in their zoo-like location.  We spent 2 nights in the Arenal area, staying at the Arenal Kioro Resort. We toured The Springs Resort, which was absolutely beautiful, and made famous by many celebrities that stay there.   The next day, we toured the Arenal Nayara Springs and Villas, which were amazing.  The adult-only side is the villas, and had large villas with pools.  Beautiful place!

We drove on to the Guanacaste area of Costa Rica, where you find the beaches. There, we toured the Four Season, Andaz Papagayo, Westin, Riu Guanacaste, El Mangroove, and Cala Luna Resort.  All were gorgeous resorts in beautiful locations.  The last day, we stayed in the most beautiful villa, with 10 rooms, pool overlooking the ocean, and staff to make you food and drinks.  Ask me for details!

This is one of my most exciting trips that I have taken, and would LOVE to send you there!  Pura Vida!!
