I co-founded Snail's Pace Special Travel Services  in 1997 with one simple goal in mind -- to make the joys of cruise travel easily accessible to travelers with special needs.   For over 30 years I always traveled with a friend who had chronic progressive multiple sclerosis (MS) that left her wheelchair- bound for all of our travels. We discovered cruise travel was the best way for us to see  the world. I experienced first-hand the benefits of cruising and learned the importance of having a travel planner who understands the client's special needs.
In 1997, my friend and I worked together to form a travel niche to provide cruise services for people who had special needs. I am in charge of this specialty division of Cruise Holidays of Kansas City: Snail's Pace Special Travel Services.
If you have special needs, I am your best choice because of three simple reasons:
(1)I know what it takes to plan a wonderful cruise for someone with special needs because i have had the first-hand experience of planning and traveling with someone who had significant mobility challenges.  I learned it can be disastrous if the planning isn't done properly.
(2) I understand that it takes more work to plan a trip for the special needs traveler and I am willing to do that extra work for you at no additional cost. When you're thousands of miles from home, you need the security of a travel specialist who plans ahead...and then verifies the arrangements! I have done group cruises for oxygen dependent folks; family reunion cruises for slow walkers; and individual cruises for families who have members with significant medical issues. (3) My passion is providing accessible cruise opportunities for those who need the thoughtful, knowledgeable planning I can provide.  Through experience, I know that cruising provides the best travel value for the dollar along with being fun, exciting, and accessible!
